Today was the third orientation for the Austin kids and the first orientation with the entire group, including the students from University of Houston. We learned about the roles JDC plays in countries around the world and got to hear from a speaker, Anna, who grew up in Hungary, to tell us about what can expect. We also found out today that we will be going to Romania in addition to Hungary! We received a tentative itinerary of our trip, which includes exciting things like having a Shabbaton with some local community members in Timisoara, Romania and doing community service at the JCC in Budapest. We also broke up into different committees to oversee Shabbat, marketing and communications, overall Ruach, and gifts on the trip as well as set up some ground rules. This was the first orientation where we all realized that this trip is actually happening! T- 1 month until we will be in Budapest! We are all very excited.
